Green Cardamom is an arts organisation that develops and runs visual arts projects in collaboration with public museums and galleries. We work on a not-for-profit basis and are supported by the Rangoonwala Foundation. We run a regular gallery programme in our London space, where we also develop new curatorial projects. These are realised as exhibitions, events and publications. Our primary focus is international contemporary art viewed from an Indian Ocean perspective and our programme is informed by artistic practice in Pakistan, South, Central and West Asia. We represent a small number of artists and work with many more on a regular basis through our curatorial projects. Green Cardamom was founded in 2004 and moved into its current space in London in 2007.

  Public projects
Green Cardamom's public projects programme includes exhibitions, publications and events in collaboration with leading museums, galleries and educational institutions. We see the visual arts as an activity that produces knowledge, and our public programme is aimed at supporting the creation of and capturing this knowledge. We have worked on projects with organisations in the UK, the US and Pakistan including the British Museum, the Tate, the V&A, the Royal Geographical Society, Gasworks, Goldsmiths College, Manchester Art Gallery, Rich Mix and Whitechapel Art Gallery in the UK; the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Connecticut; the Asian Art Museum, San Francisco and the Pacific Asian Art Museum, Pasadena in the US; The Lahore Museum, The National College of Arts, Vasl (part of the Triangle Arts Trust), VM Art Gallery and Kara Film Festival in Pakistan.

  Gallery programme
Our gallery programme presents a mixture of solo and group exhibitions. We also use our gallery space as a curatorial laboratory to develop on-going projects. While our gallery programme is based in London, we also hold at least two exhibitions a year in Karachi with the VM Art Gallery. Sales from the gallery programme make a significant contribution towards funding our public projects.
